There's bars have tons of chocolate, coconut, crunch and gooeyness in these delicious bars, plus a gorgeous topping that better than caramel.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract divided
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups roughly chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened whatever you prefer)
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips


INSTRUCTIONS




  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9x13 inch baking dish* with parchment paper allowing the side to hang over the dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl or bowl of a stand mixer, combine the butter, brown sugar, salt, and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Using a mixer beat the mixture until it is smooth, scraping down the sides a few times. Add the flour and water, beat until combined.
